Through its relationship with Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions, Lloyds Bank Cardnet Merchant Giving joins a small number of card processing services that direct a donation to charity.

Henry Schein is the world’s largest distributor of healthcare products and services. Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions is a division of Henry Schein formed in February 2015 to provide back-office services to over 7,000 UK dental practices and improve their efficiency.

Unique relationship

Now Lloyds Bank Cardnet is providing a unique card processing deal to Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions. The deal offers dental practices a market-leading card processing and terminal lease package. But what’s really unique about the relationship is that it also supports the UK’s largest overseas dental health charity Bridge2Aid with a donation from Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions.

Since 2004, millions of people in East Africa have been given access to safe emergency dental care because of Bridge2Aid’s training programmes. They are looking to train and equip more Health Workers in developing countries, to eliminate dental pain and to improve the quality of life in a growing number of rural communities.

“I believe our offering to Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions is second to none,” says Lloyds Bank Strategic Channel Manager Bernie Hollywood. “It saves money, has charitable value and the system is leading- edge. Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions considered us as part of a tender for their card payments business, and I believe we offered a fast, open, honest and simple proposition.”

Speedy response

“Lloyds Bank was really easy to work with and very open,” agrees Andy Sloan, Head of Henry Schein Dental Business Solutions. “Financial institutions are not generally quick to act but the speed of the response from Lloyds Bank has been a huge benefit. Cardnet really pulled out the stops.

We wanted a certain set of rates, and they were very open about what they could offer from the outset. That meant there was no need for a lot of time-consuming negotiation.

Sector expertise

“The expertise Lloyds Bank has within the healthcare sector also played a part, enabling the Bank to understand the requirements of dentists, and to deliver a service that exceeds their expectations,” says Bernie.

“For us, it’s about customer benefit and corporate social responsibility,” concludes Andy Sloan. “Both are equally important to us. We’re hoping we can not only benefit the UK dental market, but also help lots of people in East Africa.”
